Capitola Media At HP

Here’s a frame grab from the Welcome Center at HP Inc. on the world famous Page Mill Road in Palo Alto. We worked with HP to produce a series of videos for their recruitment and onboarding process.

This center contains memorabilia from HP’s long history in Silicon Valley, including the founders’ desks and early calculators. Oh, and they truly started their business in a garage. Always a pleasure working with one of the great American success stories.

Billboard @ Times Square

This is a still shot of a 90 foot by 160 foot wrap-around video billboard in Times Square. Working with Rylander Design for Hint Water. The image is one frame of the 20 second wrap-around animation. The photo was taken at night, so the image is slightly grainy.

Beauty Shot

And here is the second edit we just completed for OpenTV. OpenTV engineered this set-top box platform to support flexible standards like HTML5 allowing designers to customize the viewer’s user experience. This video was featured at the International Broadcast Convention in Amsterdam last month.

On Location

Shooting in a cafe on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles. We had a full crew this day: Executive Producer, Director, Line Producer, Director of Photography, 1st Assistant Camera Operator, 1st AD, 2nd AD, Key Grip, Best Boy Grip, Gaffer, Best Boy Electric, Wardrobe, Makeup, Key PA, Additional Set PAs, Office PA, Production Designer, Art PAs, Art Assistants. Plus thirty actors. And of course our fantastic Client!

The Desert

Talent (under the mic), crew (in T-shirts), client (with a drink), one silk (one on standby), sound gear (foreground), two 5-Ds (only one visible), a couple of rattlesnakes (out near the oil derricks) and 105 degrees in the shade. For corporate interviews for Occidental Petroleum and Towers Watson shot in Bakersfield and Long Beach California.

REDEpic Video Shoot

Our Director of Photography and First Assistant Cameraman prep a REDEpic with a 35 mm prime lens for our next setup. With over 20 crew members on set, this was a full-service creative production for a packaged goods company. We shot on a hot day in Altadena, near Los Angeles.

Steadycam

Here we are shooting a new project on the streets of downtown Los Angeles for an awesome repeat client. Reading left to right: focus puller/first assistant camera, slateboy/production assistant, talent/actress/actor, unpaid extra, steadycam operator. Out of frame are the director, director of photography, hair and makeup artist, wardrobe artist, first assistant director, executive producer, gaffer, grip, best boy, and, of course, the client. The sun was beginning to set, so we had to pull this shot off rather quickly.

Shooting at the Samsung Experience in the Time Warner Building in Manhattan. We demoed Samsung’s latest HD television.

Video Production LA

Here we are shooting a trauma scene with two “wounded” soldiers. Shooting with a full cast and crew in Canyon Country in Los Angeles. Sizzle Video for ABC

In an effort to support ABC.com‘s ever gowing audience, we helped this division of the ABC network craft a sizzle video for their upfront advertising sales campaign in Manhattan. Live action in Woodland Hills and on the Walt Disney studio lot. Many days dedicated to editorial and After Effects creative and production. And sweet audio mix session to top it off. The screens below transitioned one to the next.

Audio Post Production

Working in Los Angeles at a mixing studio with a new client. Finaling our sound design, audio fx, audio mix, music edit, voice over track and EQ. The last step of an awesome project. Oh, and this clients sells non-lethal products to the military and search-and-rescue institutions.

Fashion Shoot

Our Director of Photography double checks focus as the Gaffer and Key Grip adjust the lighting and bounce. The boom mic is set. And we’re almost ready for action on this product demo. We are shooting on a cyclorama stage in the East Bay in San Francisco.

Marketing Video @ Oxy

Here’s a frame from the opening of a recruitment video for Occidental Petroleum Corporation. Shot in Los Angeles, posted in the San Francisco Bay Area.

To capture the frame that is zooming up in the screen grab, both the crew and talent were suspended 40 feet off the ground on an oil derrick located on one of the islands Oxy manages in Long Beach harbor.
